Band Booster Meeting Minutes
Meeting Date: August 9, 2005
Michele Adams called the meeting to order at 7:42PM.
Meeting Minutes Minutes from the last Regular Booster meeting were reviewed and
approved.
Treasurers Report Jeanne Tharpe
Approximately $12,700 is still owed for band camp.
The Band Booster scholarship was paid to Ansley Rudbeck on August 9, 2005
The report was accepted.
Presidents Notes
Michele Adams
All day practices are on August 26th and September 17th from 9AM-6PM. Lunch
will be provided; pay in advance. The concession stand will be cooking lunch.
Lynn Nottoli Chaperones
Ten people are needed to chaperone the away games.
Chaperones for away games must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the
departure time. They must be willing to bring bottled water for their bus;
approximately 25 bottles. Chaperones have to bring their own cooler too.
Volunteer positions are available for the Exhibition. Positions include
concessions, hospitality, guides, and tickets. All Coweta and Fayette schools
participate; middle schools are invited.
Don & Diana Lowery Concessions
An extra French fry cooker is needed for the first two home games. Volunteer
help with grills and the visitor concession stand is needed.
Music Director
Practices are going good. The first three movements out of four are complete.
The ship building is almost complete. Parent help is needed to get it on the
field. The ship is 20 yards long and in 10 pieces.
This is the best group yet with attitudes. The brass is stronger this year.
Competition tentative schedule is:
o 10/1 Collins Hill
o 10/15 South Gwinnett
o 10/22 Southern Star (Warner Robbins)
o 11/5 BOA (GA Dome)
Charlene Barrow Student Accounts
Student account balances were distributed. Parents with discrepancies should
email Charlene.
The 3rd band fee payment is due tonight.

Uniforms Cynthia Livingston
The fittings have been finalized.
Shoes are being ordered. Payment is required before shoes can be worn.
Purple polos for the alternate uniform are being ordered; the cost is $15
each.
Alternate uniform pants are required and purchased by the student. They must
be black Dockers; no cargo pants.
Black socks that cover the ankles are required for every game.
The first pair of gloves is provided; additional gloves cost $3 pair.
Students are advised to purchase additional show shirts, especially during
months with games and competitions back to back.
Uniform laundering help is needed; sign up sheets are available tonight.
Terri Rapier Fundraisers BBQ Fundraiser
Cooks are needed for the stew on Friday morning 9/9. Volunteers to help clean up
the concession stand on Friday are needed too beginning at 10AM. The goal is to
sell 1000 plates. Publicity for this fundraiser is needed. The ingredient list
will be emailed. BBQ tickets are now on sale.
Candy
Candy is on sale for this week only.
Publicity Debbi Gibson
Help is needed putting up signs at the stores to advertise the BBQ.
Debbi is also working on a scrap book about the band. Old newspaper clippings
about the band are needed.
Exhibition Ads Tom Schatzburg
Ads are on sale for the Exhibition. 50% of the ad price goes to the selling
students account. Color ads are not accepted because they are too expensive. Ad
forms are available tonight and will be on the Web site. Ads are due to
September 1st. Charlene Barrow will collect the ads and money.
United Scrip Pam Cosper
Scrip forms are available tonight. In July, $65.68 was applied to the uniform
loan balance.
A Scrip contest was held and David Meyers was drawn and was the winner.
Another contest is being considered.
The Scrip form due date may possibly change to Mondays with cards returned on
Thursdays.
Spirit Mary Ruth Davidson
The spirit song was introduced to possible sale as a fundraiser. It cost
$900 to make 250 CDs; Mary Ruth has raised $450. The CDs is produced will sell
for $6 each. An idea to sell the CD and a t-shirt as a package deal was
introduced.
Purple polo shirt orders are being taken. They sell for $25 each.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:12PM.
